Kenneth Harry Pierce, 77, of Battle Creek, died April 25, 2011 at Evergreen Manor. He was born October 4, 1933, the son of Alva and Gladys (Avery) Pierce in Kalamazoo. Kenneth attended Athens Public Schools and the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint. He worked for Holsum Bread before becoming a full-time farmer on his farm in East Leroy. He and his wife, Juanita, retired to Florida in 1978 and returned to Michigan in 1992. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Juanita (Burt) Pierce of Battle Creek; daughters, Susan (Michael) Lehman of Battle Creek, Anita (Brad) Howington of Geneva, Florida; son, Thomas (Tracy) Pierce of Battle Creek; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; brother, Lyle (Joy) Pierce of Westin, Arizona, sister, Marie (Leonard) Schneider of Battle Creek and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Kenneth enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf and woodworking. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place11:00 a.m. Thursday, april 28, 2011 at Zion Lutheran Church, Marshall with Rev. Roger B. James officiating. Interment, Leroy Congregational Cemetery.
