Brooklyn Jade Hyatt, age 1 year 11 months 21 days, died Thursday, October 11, 2012 in her parents' arms following a life-long battle with Lissencephaly (Smooth Brain Disorder).

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the First Church of God in Brighton, Iowa with Pastor Ryan Meader officiating. Visitation will begin noon Monday, October 15th at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Memorials have been established to Hospice of Washington County, the Children's Miracle Network or a general memorial. Brooklyn Jade Hyatt was born October 20, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City the daughter of Charles Douglas Hyatt and Sarah Abigail Glaspie.

She attended the First Church of God in Brighton. Brooklyn enjoyed music and loved being snuggled with. She liked being outside in the sun and found great pleasure in being pushed in her swing.

Brooklyn is survived by her parents, Charlie Hyatt and Sarah Glaspie of Washington, Iowa; paternal grandmother, Nancy Brault of Blue Rapids, Kansas; maternal grandparents, Jeff and Danielle Glaspie of Brighton, Iowa; uncle, Justin Glaspie of Brighton, Iowa; uncle Shane Hyatt of Indianapolis, Indiana; maternal great grandmother, Della Glaspie of Washington, Iowa; maternal great grandfather, Ken Meiners of New Albin, Iowa; maternal great grandmother, Marlin Meiners of Wellman, Iowa; and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Gerald Hyatt; maternal grandfather, Larry Freese; and several great uncles.
