Barbara Anne Baker, age 53 of Manila, passed from this life, Monday October 28, 2013 at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Augsburg, Germany, she was raised in a military family and had lived in Germany, Kansas, Virginia, and Georgia. Barbara was a 1978 graduate of Lithonia High School in Lithonia, Georgia and later graduated from Arkansas State University in 1982. She had been a Manila resident since 1978 and was the Career Pathways Director at Arkansas Northeastern College. She was an active member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Manila and was a northeast Arkansas representative for the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Barbara was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer Bourland Gray.

Funeral service will be 1pm Thursday October 31, 2013 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Wayne Moore and Rev. Ray Dill officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Carter, Alan Morris, Ernest Bearden, Danny Beene, Charles McCool, and Eric Ladue. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
