Mark Allen "Bubba" Lambert, 54, of Connelly Springs, formerly of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 18, 2022 at UNC Healthcare in Valdese.

Mark was a graduate of Freedom High School and Western Piedmont Community College. He was employed as a CNA Med Tech with Foothills Correctional Center in Morganton, a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge of Morganton and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Morganton where he served on the Usher Committee. Mark loved sports of all kinds but was especially passionate about his beloved "Carolina Tarheels".

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Lambert and Barbara Tolbert Lambert; grandparents, Boots and Sis Tolbert, and Bill and Tessie Lambert; as well as a special uncle, Buzz Tolbert.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are cousins, Jeana Whisenant (Ed), Ron Black (Mardee), Jim Black (Wilma), Steve Black, David Black (Karen), Deb Thomas, Miriam Pace, Gail Bordner, June Cook (Mike), Annette Skidmore (Tim), Tonya Hefner (Mark), Todd Lambert (Samira), Connie Marsh (Billy) and uncle and aunt Rev. Kenneth Lambert and Helen Lambert.

Mark also leaves a large extended family of cousins, friends, and co-workers who loved him dearly especially his favorite kiddos, KirbyAnn and Timothy ""Muncy" Whisenant and Jamison Gallagher. He was "Uncle Bubba" to them.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday June 25, 2022 in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church Morganton.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM Saturday in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church Morganton, with Rev. Dr. Tom Bland and Rev. Fred Schuszler officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.

Prior to the visitation, the body will lie in state with a guest register at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese on Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 PM.

The family encourages everyone to wear Carolina Blue or Tarheel attire to celebrate Mark's favorite team!

Pallbearers will be Rob Gallagher, Alex Gallagher, Benjamin Whisenant, Mark Black, Tom Oxentine, Matt Lowdermilk, Trey Setzer and Noel Shepherd.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church of Morganton, P.O. Box 459, Morganton, NC 28680.
