Linda (Lindy) Santistevan- Gowans 11/13/1927 ~ 4/23/2010 Magna/Tooele/Salt Lake City, UT- Thank you Heavenly Father for taking our Mother, Grandma, Sister and Aunt home to join all our loved ones in your kingdom. Our hearts are breaking, and yet we rejoice that her earthly journey is done. A life lived well. She has chosen you, and will be waiting for us with open arms. She was beautiful and stubborn, these are not faults, and these were God's gifts that made her so special. She did things her way, right or wrong she taught us to take responsibility, and with God's help we could get through whatever life hands us. Linda (Lindy) Hazel Santistevan was born Nov. 13, 1927 to Raymundo Santistevan and Anna Raquel Quintana in Costilla, New Mexico. She married Adoniaz Olivas but later divorced at a young age. From this union she had two sons who died as infants, and a daughter, Gina, who would be the one constant in her life. The person that would remain at her side through the tough times as well as the good times until Linda's time was called by the Lord to return home. The bond they share was made in heaven. No Mother could have asked for a more devoted loving daughter. She then married the love of her life, Farrell Gowans, and expanded their family by adding another daughter Kelly whom she also loved dearly. No child could be wanted more; she held a special place in her mother's heart. They shared many years together until Farrell's death in 1977. Linda devoted the rest of her life to her family, she helped raise her grandson Trey, and he held the special place in her heart. She had plenty of love for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would always end her conversation with, "I love you Baby" and a kiss on the cheek. Survived by two daughters Gina Bjerke (Chris) and Kelly Cochran (Jack); one brother Paul Fred Santistevan (Harriet); six grandchildren, Trey, Regina, Robert, Cavan, Keith and Jolene; five great-grand children Brandon, Tesleah, David, Guage and Robby. Remember Grandma loves all of you, and she will be sending her kisses from Heaven. And will watch over each and every one of you. She will be welcomed back to the arms of her heavenly Father and her parents, her two brothers Eli Santistevan (Dora) and Joey Moses Santistevan, her two Baby sons, Elmo and Juanito Olivas, and her loving husband Farrell, and all her loved ones that preceded her, Linda also had many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Vaya con Dios con la familia en el cielo, hasta que podamos estar juntos otra vez. Nosotros te manda Con todo el amor e las flores de la Familia. The Family wishes to thank Hazen Home care for their wonderful care that was given to our mother as well as to our family throughout this time of Need. They were a god send, a Family.
