Gerald Allen DeSalvio, age 59, died December 12, 2016 in Leesburg, Virginia. He was born in Detroit on December 19, 1956. While pursuing his passion for pitching baseball, Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Army from November 1975 until November 1979. He was a longtime employee of Visioneering in Fraser until he moved to Chantilly, Virginia in support of his family in 2009. At that time he began work as a Lab Technician at Quest Diagnostics. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing and bowling. Jerry is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Beloved husband of Monica. Loving father of Anthony DeSalvio and Nicholas DeSalvio. Cherished son of William and the late RoseAnn (nee Dellies) DeSalvio. Dear brother of William (Barbara) DeSalvio, Patricia (Robert) Groff and John (Kim) DeSalvio. Caring nephew of Ms. Bette Dellies, Mrs. Nancy DeSalvio and Mrs. Betty Dellies. Gerald is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Jerry's family will receive friends on Monday, December 19th from 2:00pm until 9:00pm with Rosary 6:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. Instate Tuesday 10:30AM until time of Mass 11:00AM at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 E. 14 Mile Rd., Sterling Heights. A committal service will immediately follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
