Condolence & Memory Journal

As I sit and watch the show yet it makes one wish for those simpler times when life was more about getting your family fed and clothed as John Walton did and lived a hard, but happy life which was made that way from the love of his family.
It's so hard to believe that there are very few of the cast left with the deaths of Ike and Cora Beth Godsey in the years since Ralphs death. I miss them all and when I am down and need to get me a pick me up I put a Walton's disc in and am taken to a time when things were so much better.

Ralph was a fine actor on the Waltons. the story of the father who cared about his family very much and knew how to talk to his children, He loved his wife very much and also his mother and father I will always remember the way he used his acting skills as the actor who portrayed John Walton, May god hold him in the palm of his hand.

As an actor, Ralph Waite had me believing that he was John Walton on the TV show that still offers me life lessons so many years later. I found a role model in that character which was portrayed so well by Ralph Waite. Thanks for the life lessons written by others but made believable through great acting. Seemed more real than acted.

Ralph exhibited the best example of how a father should love his wife and all his children. I will remember him the rest of my life. Ruth Racki, Buffalo, NY

The best part about wedding plinanng is merging two cultures together. My fiance is Greek and I am Chinese. Finding our cultural traditions and incorporating them in the wedding has been so much fun. Both of us were raised in the states so we've been doing some research on Greek and Asian traditions. We've learned so much about both our family backgrounds already! It's been so special.

What can you say about Ralph Waite except that he was a great actor and one of the bestest role model of a loving and understanding Dad. The Waltons Is a awesome television show to watch even now. How much have our morals changed from then. Back then the husband was the provider while the Sons helped all the time and the wife and daughters were in the kitchen taking care of the household . What a blessing! Just to see a movie with such love and adoration for ones needs. Even tho they could not always be met everytime. Today's generation would have not known what to do back then to struggle day to day living. They trusted in GOD to provide for them . And it was only a movie. But it goes to show you how much we need like Olvia would say the Good Lord will take care of it. And he always did. Anyways to daddy Walton and his family send our love and prayers to you all. And to his Walton family . God Bless you all.

I bet you are with Ike, Zeb, Esther, The Baldwin sisters, and Ep having a glass of lemonade spiked with some recipe right now. God bless you all and Good Night.

When I heard of Ralph's passing, I felt as though I had lost a friend. He was such a gem as the father of a large family. He showed us all what a family could be when they really cared about each other. He was so special and was sincere in his work. My thoughts and prayers go out to his families, the Waites and the Waltons. Rest in peace Ralph, you will be missed so much.

Thank you for the role you played in the Walton's. You were the same age as my dad. I never felt like you were just acting. I watched the show from the beginning and still watch it almost everyday. My favorite was the class reunion that you had at your house. It is so much like our life and when they spoke around the table while the classmates were eating, the things they said about John, Olivia & his family reminded me so much of my husband & the way he has felt for so long. Material things & positions in society are not as important as living peaceably, being a man of your word, being content, and loving someone & being loved. I hope his family will know just how much I learned from his character in raising my own family. It wasn't just a show, it was real life. Reality shows today should take a lesson. You will be missed :)
