Condolence & Memory Journal

I would have to say my favourite memory of uncle ray was when I first met him and he awed me by showing how good at pool he was with one hand behind his back. I miss you uncle ray and just wanted to send my condolences to all of the family that I never get to see or hear from. God Bless you all.

I was privileged to know Ray Dowling. As a young entrepreneur, was invaluable to me as we built our business around his prolific ideas and always being available.

I remember our lunches and quality time he would share with his sage ideas and always caring ways.

I respected Ray as a businessman for his ethics and ideals which were the hallmark of his family life and his adoration for his wife and children.

I will always remember Ray and young Jason moving up the ranks, Ray was always proud of his children and has left a legacy that will be carried on.

I celebrate his Life and although their is a Loss, he was truly a Gift to those who knew him. He surely will be missed.

Sincerely,

I will ALWAYS remember selling machines to Ray. When I would drop by to see him, he would say "What do you want Filippone"" What kind of JUNK are you trying to see us today?" Then he would invite me into his office and give me a purchase order for a JSW machine. After that, he would invite me to be his guest for lunch. He never let me pay for lunch and HE was my customer. That was this special Guy named Ray Dowling. A ONE OF A KIND SPECIAL HUMAN BEING!!!

Joanie. Thanks for introducing us to Ray's special "Chicken Rice Soup" from Cocos. We are there every Thursday.

REST IN PEACE YOU SPECIAL MAN

I had the pleasure of meeting Ray when during a recent business trip the family extended an offer for me to join them and him for lunch. We only had a brief chat, but I remember telling colleagues how warm and charming he was and how the conversation flowed effortlessly. I was impressed that after all the years, he still had a genuine interest in the specific small-scale project I was working on with UPM, and it spoke volumes to his passion for injection molding. I only wish I'd had more of an opportunity to work with him. My condolences are with his family as they work through this difficult time.

Steve and family;

I am sincerely saddened by the loss of one of the pioneers of our plastics business. Fair and tough is how I remember Ray during our business dealings. And I of course remember the smile and his wonderful approach to life. May time pass quickly for you and your family.

I had the pleasure of first meeting Ray about 5 years ago. He was one of the friendliest people I've ever met! Around me, he always had a big smile on his face and he never had anything to say that was negative. His smile was infectious and he always made me feel good! What a great guy!

To Jason and the Dowling Family, I want to express my deepest sympathies and your Dad and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. I will always remember him as one of the happiest people I've ever had the pleasure to know!

Sincerely,

Jeff

So many memories of some wonderful times.

I am the son of Ralph Powell, the passing of Ray was felt deep in my heart.
I worked at UPM almost every summer, mostly making boxes. They did let met drive the forklift once and I spilled a pallet of plastic across the shop floor. Well I was only 14 years old.

I fell in love with the process of injection molding, and opened my own company 20 years ago in my garage. Were now running 10 machines, and still growing project by project.

Do I dare mention the Slushy Cup project! Well I remember my Dad getting a bronzed award for that one!

Ray your dreams live on, although I was a pesky little kid probably in the way most of time. What I left with was a burning desire to melt some plastic!

Love to all

We were fortunate to fine UPM, 15 years ago to mold our platform for our balance equipment. UPM worked with us all thes years with such professionalism but kindness. Our company was sold the end of 2011 and I miss our association. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. And how could you not love a man who has "his own system" Nance
