I was just wondering how Spencer was doing, last week- & then heard he had passed. I did know he wasn't well- Hadn't spoken with him in quite awhile, and the last time I'd called, his daughter said he was "resting"- So. When I lived in L.A., we used to go out to lunch ("Do Lunch"-!) at the House of Blues, off of Sunset. I will always Miss him...

I like many others were absolutely stunned to hear of his passing because "Keep on running" was like an anthem to us back in the day, reading various obituaries of Spencer he may not have been daily in our sight but the proof of his prowess as a professional shows in the list of other professionals that he played with in his coming years, it shows respect to someone that deserved it. I am not far behind him in years and this brings to mind that l too am in the winter of my life.

Some of my happiest and fun days were because I could sing and dance to their upbeat music. Your creativity and appreciation for your craft is honored as we reminisce and remember good times while playing your music. Job well done!

I was lead singer in a Blues and Soul Band in the 60s back in Oldham UK.
We were called Rod Graham and The Blues Keepers and later went on to be Barclay James Harvest. One of my highlights back in those early days 1965 was, we were the support band to Spencer Davis Group when they played a club called The Human Jungle, in Oldham. It was an All Nighter gig for us, but I remember the SD band were very friendly and
Steve Winwood asked if he could use my mic as his was ‘playing up’ They played a fantastic set and the place was rockin!! Fond memories to a great guy in Spencer, I still play Autumn 66 Album, one of my favourites. RIP Spencer.

I was very young 15 years old when older brother played his music & radio might have been also throughout the years listening to "Gimme Some Lovin"& " I'm A Man " Great Music ! Became big Traffic Fan from Steve Winwood his credits was "He Came From "Spencer Davis Group "

I've been a fan since I first heard "Gimme Some Lovin'" when I was in High School (graduated 1966). I finally got to meet him at Humphreys By the Bay in San Diego several years ago when he was touring with the Rock Royalty tour, with the Zombies and Yardbirds. He was a really nice and personable guy and very gracious. I was stunned to hear of his passing and it made me very sad. R.I.P., Mr. Spencer Davis, your music is timeless and will live on to inspire countless generations, as it did mine.

I saw the Spencer Davis on the Flower Power cruise several years ago and was so looking forward to seeing them perform again on the next scheduled booking .When he played Gimme Some Lovin in the Constellation lounge ,the venue went crazy .It is a track I listen to EVERY day when I do my cardio .
