American television host best known for his work in game shows. Hosting credits include Split Second (1972-75), Name That Tune (1974-81), and You Don't Say (1963-69), The Big Game (1958), Dr. I.Q. (195859), It's Your Bet (197172), Break the Bank (1976), 50 Grand Slam (1976), To Say the Least (197778), Whew! (197980), Body Language (198486), Password Plus (1980-82), a syndicated nighttime version of The Price Is Right (198586) and Wordplay (198687). He briefly hosted a talk show, The Real Tom Kennedy Show, in the early 1970s, and appeared as a guest panelist on To Tell the Truth, Hollywood Squares, Liar's Club and other game shows. As an actor, he made guest appearances on such shows as The Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, Cannon, Hardcastle and McCormick and Cybill. Tom Kennedy was a familiar face on television game shows during the genre's heyday. He was the host of numerous TV game shows over a long career, including the popular 'Name That Tune' along with 'Split Second' and 'Break the Bank.' His first TV game show hosting job was on 'Dr. I.Q.' in 1958. Kennedy also had minor acting roles appearing on TV series 'That Girl' and 'Hardcastle and McCormick.'

So very sad to hear of Tom’s passing. He was one of the best talk show host ever that I enjoyed watching over the years. May the God of Comfort take care of the Kennedy Family by mending and binding up your grieving hearts with His peace and loving kindness. I’m so glad we can still enjoy the legacy that Tom left behind, thanks to the Vintage game shows.

I always loved Tom Kennedy and his Game Show: ''Name That Tune''!! I was at the age that I really loved all kinds of music, and until this day, I can still remember most of the many different songs/music, and still love music!! Thank You Tom Kennedy for the memories!! GOD-rest-your-soul!! Thoughts/Condolences/Prayers to his Family and Friends!! Of course, never met Tom, but always enjoyed his show "You don't say' in the mid 60s. Watched it every day after getting home from school. Deepest sympathies to all his family and friends.

I never met Tom, but I understand he was a true gentleman amongst game show hosts. You hear about so many who are snarky and rude when the cameras stop rolling, but the smiling and friendly persona you saw on the TV apparently was the real Tom Kennedy. So sorry to hear of his passing. Sending thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I had the pleasure of meeting Tom and his brother Jack Narz at the 2005 Game Show Congress. Two of the nicest gentlemen I had the pleasure of meeting. Tom was among my favorite game show hosts. My deepest condolences to his family.
