I enjoyed you many times when you sang back-up for Cher in Las Vegas, you carried Cher many nights with your beautiful voice.... I think on one of my visits to Las Vegas both you and your sister Darlene back'd up Cher at the Mirage Hotel. Today I looked online to see if you have any CD's out. I found the one you did with your Husband = Opps! Here I go again. I was able to get a hold of a brand new copy on Amazon, and look forward to enjoying it. I am a big Cher fan here in Los Angeles, and appreciate you making her shows so wonderful with you voice.

Just learned of Edna's passing a few days ago. Was so sorry to learn of her passing. Some years back my friend & I ran into Edna & Darlene while we were in Vegas attending a Cher concert. During the day we went to N.Marcus dept store and there is where we ran into the girls. I noticed Edna & went up to her & asked.....weren't you the lead singer for the Honey Cone's? Edna laughed & said....your not old enough to remember that! I said yes I am.....she got a kick out of me recognizing her. I had always remember her face & big smile over the yrs when she would appear on TV singing backup for various people. Edna introduced us to her sister Darlene & another girl who was with them from the Cher tour. I will always remember that chance meeting of Edna & Darlene in Vegas....getting to chat with them......they were so nice.

Edna Wright shared fantastic vocals with Gospel singer Andrae Crouch on the final part of his song, "Save the People", from his 1981 album, "Don't Give Up." On Andrae Crouch's 1982 album, "Finally", Edna Wright sang duet with Howard Smith on Andrae's song, "We Are Not Ashamed", which is a beautiful song affirming and sharing the Christian's faith, and stating that all who believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ has everlasting life.

To the family and friends of Edna Wright; please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. It’s funny that each generation thinks the music that they listened to , and the known artists were the best, As a teenager during the time of this wonderful group, I can honestly say that we had the best of both worlds, The artists could sing, the lyrics inspired. For that I’m forever grateful. May God comfort you and give you peace during this most difficult time of pain and sorrow!

Edna was not only a great singer, but had a wonderful soul with a great spirit. She was one of the first to welcome me when I started attending ICWCA church and when my father passed she didn't hesitate to send her condolences and love. I will miss my sister in Christ. As I watched Edna's clips, I suddenly noticed just how talented and classy the female vocals were during the 70s. Too bad the days of yesteryears will never return. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard the hearts and minds of all Edna's loving family members, treasured friends, and diehard fans. Heartfelt condolences from the Class of '69!

I was blessed to have the Honey Cone as part of my Teen years. Watching Ms. Wright on Soul Train was a delight. They were the best girl group with an outstanding lead singer. Vocally she had been doing a lot of background work for the who's who of popular music. Her vocals on Want Ads. Stickup and One Monkey are for fast dancing and we did dance a lot to those songs. But she was fierce as a vocalist with ballads to
THE DAY THAT I LOST YOU is one of the best songs ever made and song by one of the best singers ever to sing a note, I was always looking forward to the HoneyCone reunion and caught a few of her performances in recent years on youtube. WOW but the most unforgettable moment of my life was getting the opportunity to meet her backstage at Proctors Theater in Schenectady NY. WOW she was so nice and a million dollar smile. I am blessed to have been able to hear the voice of Ms. Edna Wright in my lifetime and so is the world. We are all the better for it

Edna is among the musical artists whose music and influence is a permanent and strong thread in the tapestry of my musical artistry.
I remember hearing her sing at a church convention and how she simply brought the house down. A great deal of today's female singers can learn a lot from her example in many ways. She will always be a legend and icon in the rock and roll music history. Rest well, Edna.

OMG! I was devastated to learn of the passing of Edna Wright. I was a huge fan of Honey Cone back in the day and still have every single one of their recordings which I still play regularly to this day. I also still have my Honey Cone scrapbook which I can never part with. My one regret is that I never got to see Honey Cone perform live, and of course now that fantasy can never be fulfilled. My sincerest condolences go out to Darlene and all of Edna's family. We have truly lost a great vocalist, but the good memories brought on by listening to the music of Honey Cone can never be taken away. "The Feeling's Gone" is still my favorite. God bless you all.

Edna Wright’s voice stood out in the soundtrack of my childhood. I was probably singing songs I had know knowledge of what I was singing. That’s the sign of a hit record! Then later when she sang with Andrae Crouch I was over the moon. I later sang with a gospel group inspired by all that great female groups. God bless Ms. Love and the rest of Ms. Wright’s family. I’m so very sorry of this great loss. God will carry you.

I started working with her during Want Adds. They wanted my help. I was married to Florence Ballard and worked with the Supremes and Martha and The Vandellas and other Motown acts. She a wonderful voice. The wanted me to be part of the act and go with them at that moment but I was married. I need my wife's aprovel first. I still work with them but didn't go on the road. I use to make a joke when no one was around when I ate Honeybuns. Edna my Honeybunny! Heaven is a better place now.
