One of the most original drummers of our day - intemperate to a fault - and loved in spite of himself. This is the price of originality....I will listen to Gingers music for the rest of my life.

I got a chance to see Mr. Baker with Jack Bruce and Blues Saraceno in a very small music ballroom in Wisconsin sometime - I think - in 1989. OMG! I was blown away. Small crowd and was able to get right up to the stage. So, I'm looking around and wondering to myself: "don't these folks realize" who they're watching. I had goosebumps from the first beat to the encore. Will never forget it. It was like a dream event.

Terribly sorry to hear of Ginger Baker's death. He was fortunate in that as a drummer he got to share his love of music with so many others. We will remember him fondly when we hear his sound played by those who honored and admired him through the years. May God be with his family during their sorrow.

Thoughts and prayers to Gingers family. Even though he was certainly an anomaly, Ginger was a massive asset to British musicians, especially during the 60s. Cream couldnt have existed without him. Rest In Peace, Ginger.

Blind Faith - In The Presence Of The Lord
I have finally found a way to live
Just like I never could before
I know that I don't have much to give,
But I can open any door
Everybody knows the secret,
Everybody knows the score, yeah yeah yeah
I have finally found a way to live
In the color of the Lord
I have finally found a place to live
Just like I never could before
And I know I don't have much to give,
But soon I'll open any door
Everybody knows the secret,
Everybody knows the score
I have finally found a place to live, oh
In the presence of the Lord

I met GINGER BAKER in Colorado Springs in 1994, at a local bar, as he put on a "drum clinic" for his fans along with a "meet n greet" with him after woods. I still have the "ticket" along with a signed drum skin and a Blind Faith "bootleg" album. A photo of GINGER and myself is still hanging up on my spare room wall today, along with the two items he autographed. I have always considered HIM "the BEST drummer of all time". Your "drum solos" were unique !! and when I play "Do what you like", I always turn the volume UP when the "drum solo" starts. Ginger Baker, at his BEST. RIP

As successful and admired as Mr. Baker was, his passing should provide all of us a very necessary spiritual wake up call, and a reminder of the appointment we all have really soon with the God Who gave us the blessing of music.......Romans 1:16.......1st Corinthians 15:1-4.......Romans 10:9-13.

To the family of Mr.Ginger Baker.
We are sorry for the loss of Ginger Baker.
What else can be said about this "Master Drummer\Musician",that's not already been said? For those of us who came up in the late 60's & 70's learning to be drummers,
Ginger was at the top of the heap, his creative style and strength behind the kit,
was unsurpassed if you were willing to dig in
and truly listen to what was going on,he was
on top of his game! Thankfully,I had the chance to see Cream at MSG in 2005.
The "First Supergroup"!!!
R.I.P. Ginger Baker!!!
