Tribute & Message From The Family

WALLACE, Robert F. "Bob" of Hyde Park passed away on February 24, 2019 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his family. Bob was the beloved and loving companion of the late Catherine "Kay" Hussey. Born on June 23, 1938, Bob was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Connelly) Wallace, formerly of Westwood.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his sister Judy and her husband Frank Bowman of Norwood, and his sister Fran and her husband Jack Kilroy of Buzzards Bay. Bob will also be deeply missed by his extended family, especially by his nephew David; nieces Dianne, Lynn, Dianna, and Caroline; grandnieces Isabel, Mackenzie, and Aisling; and grandnephews Justin and Jack.

Bob spent nine years in the Army Reserves. He was also a former owner/operator of the Westwood Gulf Station. Bob retired from the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department after 28 years of service. He enjoyed spending the warmer months with friends and family aboard his Sea Ray, the "Catherine H". He was a staple on the docks at Bay Pointe Marina (Quincy) and at Marina Bay, sharing his stories and always cracking a joke.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., WESTWOOD on Sunday March 3rd from 1-4pm. Funeral procession from the funeral home on Monday morning March 4th at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary Church at 10am. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's honor to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Dear Bobby,

You are now surrounded by all the love, peace, comfort, family and happiness you so deserve. I will miss your voice when you would call in the morning and say, "Yes, ma'am, is my coffee ready?" I'd say, "It's ready, but you'd better hurry 'on down' before it gets cold." You'd chuckle - made me feel good because it sounded like you were feeling good and ready for a good day.

Thank you for the great memories, and of course introducing me to Jack. Entertaining my friends when we were younger - you just loved how they thought you were the funniest guy. Hey, some of those jokes were pretty good! Now you can entertain all of your old and new friends - it will be the best audience you ever had. I will miss you - hey, you know that!!

LOVE,
Fran
