I am a life long Washingtonian and have very fond memories of the Jhoon Rhee TV commercials. I still know that the definition of the name Jhoon Rhee means "might for right"--that in itself is a wonderful legacy.

This was a remarkable human being on Earth. We were lucky to know Grandmaster Rhee, who inspired a nation with his devotion to Karate and his students. I thought he would be with us forever with all his stamina and energy, and great accomplishments in his life. I was inspired by GM Rhee, I will truly miss this great man. I first met Grand Master Rhee when I started taking lessons from him in 1962 when I was 15 years old. He soon became my hero and he will remain so forever. To me, he was the greatest man on the face of the earth. Though he is gone, he will remain in my heart forever. I bow to you, Sir. You will never be forgotten.

I will never forget you, you were the first South Korean I ever met, when I came from Mer Rouge, Louisiana to attend Howard University in 1968. I enrolled in your Tae Kwon Do class, and really enjoyed your wisdom and skill in the marital arts. You were my instructor/mentor for three years.

I appreciate Mr Rhee's hard work and dedication. Putting those to practice along with a good objective, gives us dignity and success. Rest in peace, Grand Master Jhoon Rhee. Thank you for your dedication and contributions to the Taekwondo and martial arts. I received my 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo from him back in the 70's. He was one of the best Teachers and Instructors I ever had the honor to train with.
