Daryle was a legendary singer with an amazing voice. In my opinion he was the King of Country Music. As Jones sang...Who's going to fill his shoes?
God blessed Daryle with an amazing talent and I feel truely blessed to have live in his time to hear him sing.
My heart goes out to his wife and kids, and all those that knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed. We all have to believe that one day we'll see him again. I sure hope when that day comes he'll have a guitar in his hands.....

So sorry to hear about the passing of what I say best SINGER ever. Back in his early years I attended a concert of his and told the guy selling shirts that my son which was 6 yrs old then had gotten badly burnt. He loved listening to Daryle sing Amen kinda love. And the young man took my son's address and phone number to which we thought he may send him a little t-shirt. . He did better he called spoke to my son and made my young man a happy camper. Invited my son to the town close by where he was gonna be performing and let us sit on front row. Came down spoke to my son and took a pic with him and even took him for a stroll on his bus. From that day till this one . He made us very happy and I've never forgotten what he done for my son. Not many people take time out for fans but he did. He will be missed dearly and I know he's up in Heaven having amen kinda love . Gone too soon our dear friend. May God wrap his arms around his family and hold on to memories as we will . Rip Daryle

I have only been to one of his concerts and he made a real great impression on me, have been a fan ever since, that was about 17 years ago!

God bless your beautiful family Daryle! My sister and I first met you when you were singing at the Ramada inn hotel lounge. You were just starting out. My sister called up to the room and said, "You gotta come hear this guy sing." It was history from there. We saw you another 6 times or so. We traveled to Nashville from Indianapolis. We came to your fan club dinner in the nineties and even got published (the picture) with you in "Country Weekly." We were ecstatic! You were the most genuine, kind, God-fearing man! I know Jesus needed you. We don't understand this but one day we will see you again. I am praying for your entire family! God bless!

So sad to hear he's gone! We went to Nashville last April and went to the Ryman to see the Oak Ridge Boys. But Daryle was also there, singing songs with Rhonda Vincent. Although we never heard from him -we're from Holland-, we were immediately a fan of Daryle. We bought his cd There's still a little country left and listened to it the rest of our holiday in the rental car. When we came home, I also ordered the new cd American Grandstand. Since that day in April, we were big fans of Daryle! So it was really a shock to hear he's passed away. Rest in peace Daryle!

We were saddened to hear of Daryle Singletary passing at far to young an age. We've been fans for a long time but never had the opportunity to see him in person here in Alberta, Canada.

We will forever remember Daryle as some years ago we named our roping shack the Stumble Inn from the line in his tune "To Much Fun".

Condolences to the family.

I have followed Daryle's music since his first record came out. I'm a huge Keith Whitley fan, so I fell in love with Daryle's singing as well. I put him in that same category as Keith, Merel, and Jones. The kind of singer that sings from his heart, and makes you say, Wow! I'm so heartbroken with the lost of this great talent. In my opinion we have lost the last of the great country singers. I always looked forward to his new material, since there's no Real Country coming out on radio. Sending prayers and condolences to the his wife and precious children. I can't imagine what they are going through. I pray God gives yall strength and comfort. RIP Daryle! I was San Angelo, Tx, stationed at Goodfellow, Air Force Base. I learned Daryle was in WACO, Tx for a concert for Lung Cancer. I drove 4 hours one way to go see him and he didn't know I was anywhere close. After meeting the band at the venue, Ricky took me to Daryle's hotel room where he and Daryle was rooming together. Daryle was sleeping and we woke him as we entered the room. It was so dark you could not see your hand 3 inches in front of your face. Ricky and I walked in and Ricky said to Daryle you will never believe who is with me. Daryle said who is it.
All I said was "what's up cuz?", he sat up in bed and said Ikey Hopkins what in the world are you doing in Tx.
We had a good laugh and talked for just a few minutes. He asked me if I was coming to the concert and I told him I would not miss it and would see him there. I had one of the best times of my life that night with him, Rhett Atkins and the band.
My heart is breaking for Holly and family. We have lost another cousin.
Love you cuz.

Posted by Kevin Minton - Piedmont, AL   February 14, 2018

Growing up with Daryle was a lot of fun. Holly, I don't know if Daryle ever told you, but he used to milk cows when he was a little boy. My daddy, Gene Jones, would tell anyone who came to the barn to get to work and not stand around. My family owned a dairy farm just down the road and when we weren't milking cows, all the neighborhood kids were up and down the dirt roads playing and getting into mischief. In school, we were members of 4-H and FFA, and my mama, Esther Jones, had to drive us to meetings and on 4-H trips. I remember going to DPA and Daryle winning 1st place at Rock Eagle. He was so shocked he had won, but we knew all along he would. We then went to State Congress in Atlanta and he won that too singing Randy Travis' song. Daryle was a true country singer and friend. We couldn't have been more proud of him and the man he had become. He has always been very special to my family and will be missed dearly. We send our love and prayers to you, your precious little ones, Mr. Roger and Mrs. Anita, and family.

Daryle Singletary will be truly missed. Rhett and him didnt know me and my buddy from Adams house cat, but invited us to pick and sing with them on board their tour bus in 2004 in Webster, Massachusetts at their honky tonk tailgate party tour, just because I held up my Georgia state flag in the back of the crowd and told them I was from Brunswick, Ga. They called us up on stage and told the crowd we were kin because we were from Georgia stationed up there in the U.S. Coast Guard. My favorite song he sang is Old violin. My fondest memories of Daryle are the ones in Mr. Timmermans class in high school where we had chorus together. Just about every day I would say "sing me a song" his response no, me sing for me Daryle, him no,me please in that sweet innocent voice, him nope. then he'd sing. Finally one day he asked me why do you do this every day and I said because it doesn't matter if I'm having a good day or a bad one, hearing you sing makes my day better and it did. He was a real country singer like George Jones, Conway Twitty, Keith Whitley, not made up and put on. Just country like it should be. He will be missed!! I am truly sorry for your loss, and I pray for your family, God give you all peace.

Words can't begin to express the sadness and emptiness I felt in my heart, & in the pit of my stomach when hearing on Mon. morning Feb. 11, 2018 that my friend, Daryle Singletary' had just passed away. Our hearts were broken.

I first met Daryle when he was 12 years old at our Ocean Opry Show Theater. .. His parents brought him to our family Opry Show at Panama City Beach, FL in the 1980s. Daryle loved the show. I give credit and applaud his parents for raising him knowing that he was a child of God. .. And they instilled family values and what it takes to be successful in life. The Singletary Family sang Gospel music in churches in the Cairo, Georgia area.

DS paid his dues. Many of today's artists don't have to go through the trenches like Daryle did. DS earned his way to success. He left this world too soon. But in the words of Tom T. Hall, .. It could be that the good Lord, likes a little picking' to.'

It didn't take Daryle's parents very long to realize that their son had a golden voice that was a gift from God. .. And DS used that voice to bring happiness & joy to millions of country music fans all over the world.

Those of us that are traditional county music purists, looked up to DS with the utmost respect, admiration and love.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his precious wife Holly & their four beautiful children. May God embrace his family and bring them peace and comfort.

Family meant everything to Daryle. Every time I had the good fortune to work a show with Daryle, ... he'd always remind me that he remembered being a 12 year boy in the audience on summer vacation with his parents watching the Rader Family perform classic country music at our Ocean Opry Theater. He loved our comedian (ol' Moonshine) He never above his roots. .. DS, we'll see in you Heaven and we'll do some pickin' & grinnin' with David on the harp. Until we meet again, Your friend, Billy Rader

We met Daryle and Holly in Nashville through my daughter, Mindy, We liked them so much. At one point my daughter bought us a bedroom set from them. A few years later we went with friends from Illinois to a Daryle concert in Nashville, Indiana. They had followed him for years and adored his work. They were thrilled we knew him. Midway through the packed concert, he said, Now I would like for you to meet the lady that sleeps in my bed. He had me and my red face stand - and did not explain it! He did have a great sense of humor, and I will never forget that. Prayers for Holly and family.

Godspeed Daryle, and thank you for sharing a part of your life with us

So sad to hear this news. I had the pleasure of working in one of Daryle's videos when he first started out. He was absolutely one of the nicest people in the business.

My most sincere condolences to the family in losing their precious son, husband and father. May God be with you every breath you take and every moment your strength falters. Daryle's heart was the product of a loving family and a total tribute to all who loved and nurtured him through the years.
Peace be with you all.

Sad and shocked to see another great singer passed. 'Amen kind of love' has always been one of my favorite songs since it released. Listened to the whole CD just the other day. Rest in peace Daryle.
