Tribute & Message From The Family

Benjamin Franklin Battle of Gaithersburg, MD went to be with his Lord on Saturday morning December 23, 2017 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. He was born in Kinston, North Carolina to his late loving parents Esther (Pipkins) Battle and Walter Battle Sr.

Benjamin was a United States Army Veteran and a former Montgomery County, Maryland firefighter.

Benjamin's greatest joy was his sons Travis Battle and Frankie Battle. He was a devoted proud father and recipient of his sons unwavering love.

He was predeceased by his brothers Robert Pipkins, Booker Pipkins and Walter Battle Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories his ex-wife S.L. Battle, his lifelong friend John Cotton and his loyal friends Claude Smith and Drema Smith among his relatives and many friends.

I have known "Battle" from the time he was in Recruit school at the fire academy. Since that time we have remained the best of friends. I will miss you my friend. My heart is saddened today but I will always remember your ability to find humor in even the worst of times. Rest peacefully Battle.
