My condolences to the Booker family I also am from Youngstown Ohio and never knew that he was from there and it was never taught in our schools and not even now the history of this great American who gave so much to our ancestry blueprint for Black people and American history.
He celebrated us in ways we would never have seen if he had not had the ministry of photography.
I was the same age as Emmett Till when he was murdered and saw his picture in Jet. I had many nightmares but the end result was it taught me not to hate but the hold my head up high with love knowing my self-worth and that I could give my best to our people in our society by the way I treat others and at the same time I am so grateful for Emmett Till and all others who lost their life that I now can live the life I love and even though the struggles remain.
They made a clear path for us to follow. God bless the memory of Mr. Booker and the legacy of his family continues both in his natural family and his ancestors of which I'm proud to be one and as a citizen of this great nation.

I love to read about the life stories of individuals who were brave enough to provide real-life stories of individuals who were not given proper respect by other fellow humans.

Mr. Booker's life story was enjoyable to read. During his 99 years of life, I am sure he shared many wonderful experiences he encountered. Obviously, he was a well-respected journalist.

I have lived to be a senior citizen myself. I have studied the Holy Scriptures, and I am convinced that the promises that I studied about will certainly come true.

The truths that I have learned are so wonderful. Hatred for another fellowman will be eliminated from the hearts and minds of those who were once embedded with hatefulness. The color of one's skin will not matter anymore. There will not be a distinction between the rich and poor. All will equally share the vegetations and fruits of the land that Almighty God provides. All of us will be God's children, just as it was in the beginning of mankind's history. We can believe this for God cannot lie--Titus 1:2.

May the family be encouraged by Mr. Booker's memories, legacy, and the experiences he provided to many of those who knew him.

What a legacy and remarkable career which puts him in history books for his achievements especially for his advocacy in equality between racial prejudice which we still have today. May you be comforted in knowing that our God of justice will settle matters straight and Simeon will return to the days of his youth as promised at Job 33:25.
