Even though I wasn't at the funeral (I wish I was). I owe Glen a lot, he's my childhood hero and his music has gotten me through many hard and difficult times, I owe hime everything. I never knew him "well" I wasn't related to him if I would just been another face in the crowd and since I'm a minor, I couldn't get a ride to his concerts. he's in my prayers and I can never let go of what I have left of him. I owe him everything.

The first song I remember hearing was Honey Come Back. My Mother let me listen to it. After listening to it I thought it was a sad song and me being so young I cry. And from that day on I have been a fan of The Great Glen Campbell. And I was 55 when I found out that we lost Glen Campbell that day back in August of 2017. It was like losing a family member it hurt like that.

So sad. Praying for family and friends. A truly remarkable and talented man.

My cousin Glen will be missed. I remember that he wrote a song for me after meeting me, and I liked it, except I thought he could also sing it for his wife because I told him it was more of a love song too, and I was just a kid. He agreed to that one. He sent a man out with a starter bag pipe for me to try, but I didn't have much talent in me that day. It is funny how some things I have said, like "I know your wondering if there is any beginning to this girls talent" and then realize I picked it up from Glen, when I am having difficulties in the hair business. I am a beautician of 27 years and work for Regis now. I am married with 1 child, a son and he's almost to adult age time flies....I send my condolences to your family in this time of sorrow. God bless.....

Though I didn't know him quite personally, I was told he was a Campbell that was related partially to my Grandmother the late Dorothy Selinsky (Campbell). He knew he was related as a cousin to her Father Leonard Campbell, to which was a half brother to his side of the Campbell tree. He said to me when I was a kid in the 80's that "Leonard was from the other side of the tree, but still related". My Grandmother and her son to which was my Father Richard, had a lot of distinguished features of Glen. He passed on in 2001. I did not know the family only the one talk I had with Glen at the NY State Fair in the mid 1980's. I like his songs. I liked his bagpipe playing he did very well at playing them, and he wanted me to take it up, because there was a lot of fortune in those bags he said to me. I am very sad that he got sick, and now is gone. He will be remembered.

From Half Moon Bay, CA: So sorry, sorry for a passing star who made my teenage years full of fun memories of his tunes - "Galveston", "By the Time I Get To Phoenix", "Wichita Lineman", and many of his tunes. He was my idol, thinking how handsome he was, and I can remember what I was doing when "Galveston" was playing on the phonograph, part of my young life remembered because of his wonderful songs. Now I am sorry that I wished I had attended his funeral to pay tribute. Perhaps I can put some flowers on his grave one day, even though I have never met him in person. Goodbye Glen.

From that point on, everyone in the area felt a real connection to Glen. It was really special to have one of the Jimmy Webb/Glen Campbell big hits tied to Galveston. Glen was a very gifted and special human being. He will always have a place under the Texas sun. God Bless You Mr. Campbell.

I have always loved Glen's music as well as having a large amount of appreciation for his musicianship. I remember meeting him on a flight from Seattle to Reno some years back. He was so down to earth. He did not present himself as a BIG star, just an 'everyday' kind of guy. He was a 'one of a kind performer.' I will never forget him and so glad that he left us so much beautiful music. R.I.P. Glen.

To the Family of Glen Campbell. I was but a boy of 18 in Las Vegas when I was lucky enough to meet your Dad. I walked into the Circus Circus Motel where he was performing . I walked in with my ovation guitar walked back stage I guess they thought that I was part of the Band. I heard Joe's name and remembered that was his managers name. So I picked up the house phone and said "Hello Joe this is Doug I Usta work at Ovation back in CT but never had the chance to meet Glen in person. His manager said come downstairs after the show and I will introduce you.. After the show , This Tall Cowboy walked in an stood before me and reached out his hand and said , It's nice to meet you Doug he played my guitar for a bit . Then left thru the kitchen lobby. That was my moment with Glen Campbell. That was 43 years ago.

I was up all night watching interviews and performances on utube. How lucky I am for that. Glen Campbell was an original, so unique. So talented. That guitar fit him so naturally. I want to take another stab at it myself. Kieth Urban found his mentor at 8 years old. I love Keith, too.
But really Kim you were the lucky one.
Glen Campbell fell into your life.
And he became the person he was suppose to be, with family front and center.
Watched the young Campbells perform last night. Wow, so much hard work and talent. The genes are there alright. Shannon and Ashley.
But there is another singer. Debbie I got to watch and listen to you sing. Remember Peterson, AFB? Remember softball? Remember those black sweats.
I remember hoping for a chance to meet your Dad at D-11. After all he sponsored our team. We drove school buses for D-11 students. Wasen't th
at a time?
It was during this time I took my Dad to see your Dad in concert. My Dad is 6 years older than Glen. We enjoyed the concert and our time we shared together.
I was so lucky to know you Deb. You are good down home folks. Special, wonderful and oh so talented musicians, singers. I was so impressed with his guitar playing and your duets.
May God's Grace see you all through this heartach. His legacy and songs are something! Keep singing those songs.
Love you Glen Campbell,Debbie and Kim and Tanya Tucker and all the children. Be proud and brave to go on without him in the room. I am sure his love for you is gonna see you through.

I was up all night watching Glen Campbell interviews and performances. It was so cool to be able to meet the man and learn so much the through these wonderful ways on u tube.
I discovered a wonderful person and crasy talented
musician and guitarist. Music mysteriouly weaves us together. And Kim you were so lucky to have crossed paths with this man.
The kids are fun to watch performing in their own realm of entertainment. All talented like their Dad.
And Debbie you really can sing! I remember you singing out at Peterson AFB. We played softball together. Remember thise black sweats? Your Dad sponsored the team. Just wished I had ran into him out at the D-11transportation bldg. I took my Dad to a Glen Campbell concert. And now I really want to take another stab at that guitar myself. Oh yeah, I am a Keith Urban fan. Who knew that 8 year old was gonna play guitar like his idol, your Dad. Didn't know tbat.
But still I frimly wish I had run into your
Dad in the hallway at D-11. What a special man he was. So sorry Deb.

Hearing Glen sing, "No More Night", on a video from 1989, just touched my heart so much. I had never even heard this song before, and then I discovered it on YouTube. The words are so true, "No more night, no more pain; no more tears, never crying again". I cry every time I hear it now. Jesus took him "home", and Glen is no longer in pain or struggling with memory loss or any of life's tribulations. He is living in the LIGHT OF THE RISEN LAMB.

I've been crying on and off for 2 weeks after hearing of the passing of Glen Campbell. He was such a part of my teenage life, starting in 1967, with his songs and TV show and songs from 70s, 80s and 90s and on. He was a handsome hunk of a guy and an excellent singer and guitar player and showman; so full of life. Alzheimer's Disease is just HORRIBLE. I went through it with my MOTHER. So sad it see a LOVED ONE deteriorate. My condolences to his wife, Kim, and his 8 children. REST WITH JESUS NOW, GLEN.

Prayers for the entire Campbell Clan. Everyone. Glen is missed. I connected with my Mama by Glen's music as a 6-7 year old . The youngest of three children and only girl, having two older brothers close in age, I spent my time with my Mama cleaning the house and singing at the top of my lungs to Glen's early albums in the late 60's. As a teenager, Bloodline was my favorite album. As a mother, I exposed my teen daughter's to Glen's Contemporary Christian music. I connected with a Group of people dedicated to Glen In 2016 about 4 1/2 years after my Daddy was diagnosed with Dementia in late 2011. He is still in the throes of the disease. I connected with everyone on a Group Forum to share about Glen's love and kindness. Learning to make wise decisions caring for myself, while loving my Daddy, has been essential. I will have, and continue to have loving, fond memories of watching Glen's shows on TV. His artistic ability, His love for his Heavenly Father, family and friends shines brightest. I always think of Glen when I hear "Try A Little Kindness" and "Amazing Grace".l never met Mr. Campbell, but I was genuinely impressed by the amazing gifts God gave him. He shared his musical gifts with us and his gift of compassion and empathy that was evident. Prayers for the entire family that you will each have peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you for sharing your cherished Glen with my family.
With Gratitude,

I started playing guitar in 2nd grade because of my love for Glen Campbell and I bought my first 12 string when I was 16 years old. I think of Glen every time I play. When I was a kid and we were moving from Maryland to Wichita Kansas, my dad brought home the single of Wichita Lineman (because he knew I loved Glen) and said, "This is where we are moving to." We lived in Wichita for 6 years. Thank you for your music and your life's testimony. Love and prayers to Glen's family and friends. A forever fan.

Back in the 70's our family had the pleasure of meeting Glen's dad and brothers while we were in Delight Arkansas. I can see where Glen's personality came from as the family was so nice to us and had us in their home for a visit. There never will be another Glen Campbell and the night before I had heard he passed, I had a dream about him and at the end I saw him walking into a path or a cloud and he had his back turned as he was walking away. I new when I woke up, his last day was going to be that day...May God Bless his family and we will sure miss you but now you are in your heavenly home and are singing with your loved ones once again.

My dear Grandparents introduced me to Glen Campbell when at aged 12 in 1971 they gave me an LP record of his for my birthday. The album they gave me called "Glen Campbell Country" began a lifetime of love & respect for the worlds' greatest singer, songwriter, guitar player and gentleman for me.

Thank you Glen Campbell for providing music so Gentle on My Mind for most of my life.

Enjoy your reunion with your parents, family, friends & fans who've gone before. Say hello to my Dad too - I miss him too

Thanks for singing those last songs relating to your Alzheimer's they've touched my heart for many reasons. My heart broke for what you & your family went through at the time. Now I've dedicated them to my Step-Dad who is sadly in the Long Goodbye of his dementia -

I married my husband in 1972 who reminded me so much of Glen. I fell in love with Glen Campbell's music when I was 16 years old. I still have his first 6 famous albums and have always treasured them. There has never been a singer who has that soul full cry in their voice as Glen did. I love his gospel music. It fills my heart with Gods spirit and such contentment and peace. God bless Glen's family and may you always take pride and joy in remembering that he was a part of your lives as a husband, father, grandfather and brother. I will forever enjoy listening to his music.

Dear family,
Trusting you are enjoying that peace and hope that only God can give. My husband spent many quiet moments listening to Glen's gospel CDs. My husband has now passed away, but some years later my 14 year old son picked up those CDs and now several more years later is still a big Glen Campbell fan. We realized Glen was in Shippensburg, Pa. for his farewell tour. However, it was the night before when we found out. We couldn't afford the tickets for a family of six. That evening we passed Glen's bus sitting outside the hotel and my son begged me to stop. He said Glen was sick and he may never get to see him again. I did not because we were to be late for church. Periodically, he would check the internet to see how Glen was doing. When I told, Adam that he passed away, he took it personal. I trust Glen has found peace with God and I thank him for sharing the gift of his God-given talent.

Thank you Glen Campbell for touching our country with your songs and message of hope. I can still remember growing up hearing your music play throughout my home. To this day, your music fills my soul with warm memories of my father and brother who have passed away. The song Wichita Lineman is one of my favorite songs and will still touch my heartstrings each and every time I hear it to provoke me to tears; however, they are both mixed with sentimentality and hope but also allows me to experience my sadness that I keep locked up inside of me. You and your family present such faith and strength yet I know how difficult this time is, as I recently lost my father in March of 2017. My family resides in Arizona and I know the great state of Arizona is experiencing yours and our loss of Glen Campbell. I know God held a place in heaven for you and it makes me smile to know my brother and father, who were huge fans can now enjoy your wonderful music in heaven. God Bless you and your family!

To the family of Glen Campbell. Take time to mourn your loss but, take joy in the fact that Glen was able to make his heart right with God and make peace with himself before the lights on the stage of life dimmed and then went out.
Glen was unbelievably blessed with talent and the ability to make the words that he sang reach into the hearts and minds of those who listened.
I have never written anything that would or could be considered "fan mail" but I felt I needed to write and let you know that how much I respected Glen and that I will sorely miss the man and his music.
May God bless you richly and may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

To me, Glen Campbell exudes a generous pure beauty of heart and soul that leaves no doubt when listening to his beautiful voice and superb guitar accompaniment. Hear his fabulous guitar interlude in his singing of "For Once in My Life," - marvelous, and guaranteed to make even the saddest, but musical housewife, move a little. That's just a tiny sample from his long career of achievements.

I thank God that Glen Campbell was born because he is my favorite, first-rate all-round musical guy and I am his number one fan. His exquisite choice of songs (so consistently articulate) took fast hold of me back in the early '70s and along with his refreshing, funny and intelligent personality, I am forever blessed that Glen Campbell was in my world.

Followed and listened to his music all the time and still do through all my years of growing up now in my real early 60's. We lost our father in 2010 from this horrific disease. My Mom kept him home to care for him as long as she could. He only lasted 2 weeks in hospice. Thank You Kim for having the Careliving site, it was inspirational and to let others know how Glen was doing with dignity. What a great talent Glen had. For him to let his fans follow him through this journey is remarkable of him.May we find a cure and end to Alzheimers.I watched The I'll Be Me documentary and cried the whole time. I grew up listening to Mr. Campbell's music in my parent's basement. And I grew up with some of the best music ever recorded. But Glen's music stood above so many other artists. His voice was pure with a beautiful tone and melody. And, of course, he was a giant on the guitar. So many of his songs have remained with me to this day. He was a true master and a brilliant artist. His passing is a huge loss for the world of music, but his countless songs will live on forever.

We have all felt the emotions for Glen and his family through his battle with Alzheimer's, his Farewell Tour and the recent days of his decline in mind, health and strength.
I want to say I appreciate his influence in my life and career as a guitarist. At an age where I knew the instrument was special but did not relate to the singer/strummer style so prevalent at the time, he showed what a true guitar player does and this was very meaningful.
Even knowing this was coming, I'm still feeling very sad about it. Sad and grateful.

I attended over 20 of his concert 's and Glen always received a standing ovation! My family and I met him a number of times before and after his concert's and Glen always took the time to treat us as friends, posing for photo s and signing his autograph. He was especially nice to my Mom in the early 2000's when she ironically was also suffering from Alzheimer's. May all of you who are reading this, along with Glen's family, say a prayer for Glen and the millions of people and their families who have been affected by this horrible disease. As a teenager in the late 60's, I went with my church youth group to see Glen in concert in Ft. Worth, Texas. The summer after that, my parents & I took a road trip to Delight & Billstown Ark. Arriving on a Wednesday evening, we attended church services in the little Church of Christ behind the home of Glen's parents that Glen had built for them. After church, we got to meet both of Glen's parents, Wes & Carrie, who were very sweet & friendly. Wes said "Glen was born just down the road 32 years this past April. We didn't realize then we had us a pot 'o gold on our hands!" In '2000, I finally had the privilege of meeting Glen in Branson MO, when he was performing with Andy Williams. Our son Jason Sever, who is now a successful singer-songwriter in Nashville, was then performing on the Shoji Tabuchi show, & one of his songwriter friends, Jeff Dayton, who had played guitar for Glen, arranged the backstage meeting for my husband Bob & me. I told Glen that night the story of when I met his parents and how very proud they were of him, & his face lit up! We also got to meet Glen's brother, Lindell, who at the time was the minister for the Church of Christ in Delight, when we attended services there the following Sunday. I am so glad I got to experience all this, and will never forget it. My condolences to Kim, Ashley, Debbie, and all the rest of Glen's family.

To Kim and all Glen's children, grandchildren. great grandchildren, his sisters and all extended family,
I have been heartbroken since I first heard dear Glen was in the first stages of that horrific Alzheimer's.

Thank you for that wonderful documentary
Glen Campbell "i'll Be Me"
As I watched it I cried through out as it was like watching my dear father some years ago.
Kim, you agonized about putting Glenn into a facility to take care and watch over him.
My dear Mom took care of my Dad by herself for more than 6 years. They did not have a lot of money but non the less she could not get any help. Out of their little money she paid to have a male come to the house 2 times a week to give Dad a bath.
And you said there were 5 of you taking care of Glen and how exhausted you all were. Think how exhausted my dear Mom was and she was in her 70's. At the end of 1995 the Dr's told Mom it was time to
put Dad into a care facility. My Mom never learned to drive yet she took the city bus everyday at 11 so she could feed him lunch stay till 3 then ride the bus home. She only missed 2 days with a
bad cold. Dad left us all on January 5,1997. We were heartbroken as you are.
From my heart I thank Glen for letting us
into his very private torment of this devastating disease. Now he 'is himself!
May God bless you all and give you the strength to get through each day. It will never go away but in time will become softer!

So sorry for you loss. So proud of how you shared his battle (and yours) with Alzheimer's. His music will go on to future generations. He now has a complete, perfect body and he will be watching you all from heaven until you meet again. Prayers for all of you.

My wife's mother struggled with this same disease so we know what you all went through. Watching the film the other night we loved Glen's sense of humor in dealing with it--like he said you can laugh or cry, and like Kim said, try to be merry in whatever situation you find yourself in. Gentle on My Mind was first LP record I ever had as a kid at age 6-7) and still have it. Was enchanted by Glens' smooth clear voice as a singer. Watched the Good Time hour religiously. As I got older came to appreciate Glen's awesome talent as a guitarist and wanted to learn guitar myself. Bought my first acoustic guitar in about 1978 from saving lawn mowing money and it had to be an Ovation Balladeer because that's what Glen played. Had the privilege of seeing him live in an outdoor concern in Dallas where I grew up about 1980. Though he went through some tough personal times in the 80s, continued to love his music. Got married late in life (age 48) and chose Lightning in a Bottle for one of the songs in our ceremony (still think it is one of his best songs, as good as any of his other chart making hits), because it struck a cord with my own personal blessing of finding a wonderful woman in my life at a stage when I thought I never would. Like Johnny Cash, I never get enough of listening to Glen's music (though Mr. Cash was a generation before my youth and Glen was from my time. We went to see Glen on his farewell tour at a Branson show (afraid he might not appear in Little Rock) and then again several months later at his final LR show--took my two young kids to the Branson show so they could see him in person, and put a face to the music I still love to listen to. Many blessings and prayers to his family and friends. I lost my mother to Alzheimer's about 7yrs ago and my Father (now 80) has it too and is in its final stages. Both my parents grew up in Texarkana area, not far from where Glen originated in SW Ark. As a physician and as a son of parents with this terrible disease, I can fully appreciate the struggle Glen and his family have endured. He and his family are to be commended for the courage and humility they showed in going public with his struggle with this disease and highlighting the need to find a cure or effective preventative measure. I will always remember Glen for his music, his humor, and his Southern gentility. Will continue to follow music careers of his children, they have definitely inherited some of his God given talent. For me, Glen will always be "Still on the Line"!!!!

Your GUITARS & All those SONGS... MADE MY MEMORIES. Isn't it interesting how talent, creativity, and kindness breathes LOVE into us. How many songs did you sing & play? They all came and went. But each piece of music or one of those songs has touched so many at some time. What a legacy for ALL of us!

Thank you for your HEART. For ME as a fan, and also as I read, from your compadres-- ARTISTS of instrumental and vocal music, WE ALL just wanted to experience the expression of your HEART & JOY!

Each year, like clockwork, two lesser known Christmas songs, Old Toy Trains and Little Alter Boy speak to my HEART--because you took the words and conveyed feeling and emotion.

I met Mr. Campbell in Phoenix back in the mid 90's. He had brought his car, a Cadillac, to be washed and serviced where I worked as a manager. When I entered the lobby to give him his paperwork, I saw him quietly reading greeting cards on a rack near a window. We got talking about his car and how pleased he was with it. Such a humble man, polite, and his voice... an unforgettable moment for me. It was an honor to meet you Mr. Campbell. Rest in peace.

I first met and feel in love with Glen Campbell in song back in 1968 when I lived and worked in Winnipeg Manitoba.

The song was "Dreams of the Every Day Housewife" I was not a House wife but an immigrant Housekeeper. I joined his Fan Club and remained a loyal fan throughout the years until the end.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you his beloved family return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Blessings and love.

When I look at pictures of Glen when he was young, it looks just like me. Although I a woman, I'm a Campbell, and our features are almost identical. As a child watching my mother and father smile when Glen played, I grew to love him too. A world class guitarist, and didn't he hit that money note on Wichita Lineman! When he passed I felt a member of my own family died, certainly a part of my past that was filled with sweet memories. He made all of us Campbell's proud, and I thank him for that.

I lost my mother to this horrible disease over 4 years ago and when I first saw "I'll Be Me" it was incredibly painful because I understood what Glen's loving family was going through. He was a musician's musician, filled with God-given talent! I am so happy I live in a time with YouTube videos so that I can listen and see him sing and play. It takes me back to my childhood. I hope he's playing and singing in the Heavens with all those who have gone before him. Many prayers to the family during this very sad and difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to the family. My earliest memories of Glen Campbell are from the early seventies when my Mom would tune into his Goodtime Hour Show. We loved it. Have enjoyed all of his hits, amazing session work, and his awesome ability to entertain. What an artist! What a great heart. Loved his testimony for Jesus Christ! Mom now also battles Dementia and we have been praying for Glen as he also battled it. Now his battle is over. Prayers for the family. Thank you for the beautiful songs. They still bring much joy to Mom. Maybe even more so. Looking forward to a better place....

I never realized how much he touched my life until he was gone. Growing up with his music he became a part of us, helping us remember the times of our lives when we were young. So much talent as a singer and guitarist. So sad that he is gone. Scott Randal Grafton

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.

Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

in my jewish religion we have the Kaddish prayer for the dead. men who lost a loved one would go to a place of worship, where there was a minion , ( 10 jewish men ) every day and recite the Kaddish prayer for their loved one. my Kaddish prayer for Glenn is to play the song Gentle On My Mind every day for a year on my guitar. R.I.P. Glenn Campbell....we will always love you...Baruch DaYan HaEmet.( hebrew ) may his memory be for a blessing, may the family know no more sorrow!

So glad he kept doing concerts until he could sing no more. I was at one of his last concerts where he began to repeat one of his hit songs that he had just sung. One of his kids gently stopped him from singing it again, but I think the audience would have loved it if he had sang it 10 times. He was awesome.

I got to know Glenn's music through my parents who we grew up listening to Lynn Campbell Johnny Cash people like that and that's how I got to know Glenn's music but I have to be totally honest with you the last song that he wrote for you his wife Kim is probably the one that touches my heart more doing the work that I do with hospice and with being a medical assistant I've been with many Alzheimer's patients and I know the pain that you people have went through and I am sorry for that pain I wish there was something I could do or say that would take that pain away but to be honest there's not but you have to find Solitude in knowing that him being gone is a blessing in disguise not the fact that you will never see him again but the fact that this disease cannot take any more toll on his body than it already has he will live on forever and always in your hearts rest in peace Glenn

I didn't know him personally, but he had a place in my heart that made him feel like family to me. My heart is broken, but so happy for him to be free now! Glen Campbell was my first crush at 6 years old. My parents would let me take a nap on Sundays so I could stay up and watch his tv show that night. You have to understand, I hated naps but I wanted to see him on his show so badly! My dad took me to see him in concert in Charlotte NC (my first concert at 7 yrs old) and Glen played in a golf tournament in Greensboro NC so my dad took me to see him there. I got a picture with him. Saw True Grit and had no idea what it meant at 6 yrs old, but Glen was in it so didn't matter. I loved his music, his voice, his genuine, charming and down to earth personality. My granddad owned a record shop and he would give me Glen's 45's and albums. I remember dancing to him and Bobby Gentry in my bedroom. I pulled for him my whole life. My prayers are with his family and friends who will miss his presence. He will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to meeting him one day and singing Wichita Lineman and Bu the Time I get to Phoenix with him.

I saw Glen Campbell when he stepped onstage at the old Caravan East Nightclub in Albuquerque, NM. Buck Owens was performing but seemed delighted that Glen came on, unannounced. What a performer and what a night! I was quite young at the time but he left a lasting impression on me. Thank you Mr. Campbell for a special evening with memories that will always remain. Prayers to your family.

I don't think there will ever be another Glen Campbell. I think he was as close to Plato's perfect form of an entertainer, singer, musician and songwriter that we will ever see. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. His music spoke for the the working class man, and gave so many of our thoughts and emotions words and a melody to go with them. Now it's mostly auto-tune tricks that make it to the radio. Rest well, Glen, and thank you.

The very first album I ever bought was "Gentle on my Mind". Glen had fantastic vocal range, was a talented singer, performer, and great comedic timing. I just purchased his last album "Adios" and enjoy hearing it everyday. It is bittersweet however as we all know it will be his last. He will be missed. RIP Glen

The pride of Capitol Records taken away much too early. I am shocked and extremely sad. Memories of watching him on the Goodtime Hour, when it first ran, and the thrill of hearing "Galveston", "True Grit", "Try A Little Kindness", "Where's The Playground, Susie", "Southern Nights", "Rhinestone Cowboy", "By The Time I Get To Phoenix", "Little Green Apples" (...whew!) or "Wichita Lineman" on the radio all come rushing back to me. I wonder if they will play "True Grit" at his funeral - a fitting tribute. Thanks for the memories, Glen. You will never be forgotten. R.I.P., sir.

Fan of your music since 1967 when as a 13 year old I first saw you on Smothers Brithers show. Had the privilege of meeting you in person at the old Music City Pro Celebrity golf tourneys and also with many fellow fans/friends at your concerts in the late 1980s. You were always so kind and giving of your time to your fans. Thanks for sharing your great musical gifts with all of us. Your wonderful music will always be there for future generations to discover. Wichita Lineman will always be at the top of my digital playlist and the first record next to my turntable. Prayers for your family. I know you are singing joyously in Heaven now.

I also liked when you sang with you guest and it seemed like you were really great friends, but my favorite part of the show was the "pickin and a grinnin" set. You, Jerry Reed and the rest of the crew were so talented and hysterically funny and made watching your show pure enjoyment. My condolences to your wife , children and the rest of you loving Family. I'm sure , the memory I have of seeing you for the first time, this being my first real concert in a beautiful evening in Kansas City, Mo... inside of course, was also a memory shared by all those concert goers like me who became a fan for life...We all share those memories of your god given talent, your infectious smile, and, for me most of all, the unforgettable songs, extraordinary musicianship and the impact you had on my life to this very day....I never became that fan club kind of guy-just a fan who listened to you in earnest and got so much happiness from it that it prompted me to pick up a guitar, besides being a serious trumpet player.......You will truly be missed by those who loved you dearly in this life- by all your family, close friends & aquaintances, and so many true fans, who like me loved you for the musical gift you gave to all of us...Happy trails Glen Campbell...Hope your pickin in Paradise...

To Kim, all the Campbell kids, and extended family, I've been a fan of Glen's for 50 years, the first concert I ever went to was Glen's in Vancouver BC June was wonderful and magical. Glen was a great talent, one of the greatest guitarists in music history, one of the best and most versatile singers in the industry. Anne Murray once said Glen had the greatest voice she'd ever heard. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling and son......he will be forever missed by all who loved him and by each of his fans...the world seems a little bit emptier and darker without his presence in it but be assured that our loss is Heaven's gain and you will all see him again....Sending prayers to all the family for peace & comfort, but above all, love ........ Blessings to all of you today & always.......

I knew Glen for 56 years..Met him when I was a disc jockey at KRZY in Albuquerque in 1961...he came to the radio station one day and thanked me for playing his record "Turn Around Look at Me"..I had written Crest records and told them what a great record they had with Glen..He had been told of my letter and he thanked me for writing it...we hit it off and he invited my wife Norma and me to his home for a couple of days...we went and he took me to Capitol when he was laying down an instrumental track for someone..Glen and I hit it off and he invited Norma and me to his home again when he lived in the Hollywood Hills..I booked him into Tucson several times. He came to our house once with the Green River Boys and Norma cooked steaks for them..I booked Glen and Jerry Reed for a concert in 1972 when I purchased K-CUB radio...I have a great picture of the 3 of us together..It ran in today's Arizona Daily Star along with some of my memories of Glen...We were both close friends of Bud Glaze and I was saddened to hear of Bud's passing last December..Glen and I were both the same age. I treasure my memories of him and the times we talked on the phone..He lives on in my heart..Jim Slone

I'm sorry for your loss to this horrid disease. Rest in Paradise Mr. Campbell. I lost my momma to Alzheimer's on July 9, 2015. I bought her an iPod and put a lot of old country music on it because that was the only thing that would calm her down. I had some of Mr. Campbell's music on there and even though she didn't know me she could sing every word to every song on her iPod. It was amazing.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

I've listened to Mr. Campbell's music since the 60's...His performance - as well as Kim Darby's - in "True Grit" in 1969 inspired me to have more courage in dealing with witnessing my father's murder the same year. I had his song "I Wanna Live" on a 45 and sang along with Glen about a zillion times while I was trying to figure out the reason I lived and my father did not. I had a phonograph that would play the record over and over and over.... I listened to the song hours at a time.

I feel certain that Mr. Campbell had no idea of all the thousands of lives he touched. I was - and still am - in awe of his amazing talent, and I am eternally grateful to have had his music all those years ago.

I do realize that Mr. Campbell's life was not easy in the beginning, and that at the end, his family's lifetimes were shattered. I regret all the pain and agony they have endured and wish only the very best for them for eternity.

Much love and many blessings sent to the family from me. I just know that Mr. Campbell is wrapped in the arms of his Maker, and is being loved on throughout eternity.

To the family of Glen Campbell, I never got to attend any of Glen Campbell s concerts. I did send him a letter w my picture 2 yrs ago in hope that he received it. But by that time he was far into his illness .My first album I ever
owned was Glenn Campbell the Rhinestone Cowboy .I was 8 or 9 and loved his music from the very beginning. I followed his career all my life.So very sorry about the loss of your loved one ,who was such a special blessing to so many and a legend no one could ever replace because he was just so so special and I cherished his music so dearly to my heart. Although I never had the opportunity to attend his concerts I would like to someday meet Ashley his daughter and follow her career and see her in concert because I Know her Dad will live in her with his music in her heart. I really wanted to come and see him in the nursing home but Im just a fan from the 70s and so I just prayed and prayed for Glen and you all as he was fighting this terrible battle of altzimiers. My prayers and sincere condolences go out to you all.I will hold Glen Campbell always in my heart and cherish his music forever .God be with you all surrounded by God's love through these difficult days May Peace and love be with you all. In Christian love ,Doreen Prevost a devoted fan

Glen's music seemed very much sung to me. It was like he knew me; perfectly imperfect - like me; like all of us. His greatest gift wasn't his song, but his clarity. I will miss you Glen. We spent many days, nights and special moments together. Despite never having met personally, we knew each other well. And for that, I thank you and want you to know your voice will forever be a special part of me. My love to the family and others lucky enough to say the same about this legendary man.

Posted by Kevin Williams - Fishers, IN   August 09, 2017

Canada loves Glen Campbell and will deeply miss him. I chuckle every time I have watched his TV show with Pat Paulsen. He is so talented and he really did bless an international audience.

Loved True Grit. John Wayne was a great actor but even he had to admit Glen was a true professional actor.

The Beach Boys are better because of Glen Campbell. I am sure Brian Wilson knew what side his bread was buttered. Without Glen their would be no masterpiece.

Rest in peace Glen. Your work is done! You deserve all the rewards on earth, however, the best of all is the one reserved for you in Heaven.

One of the best ever!

I was very blessed when I had the opportunity to meet Glenn years ago in Dallas Texas airport in the 80's. I was with my mom, dad and my 3-yr-old daughter, Tanya.
I noticed him (and Kim) waiting for luggage. I walked over to him, not drawing any attention, I had to ask if it was him. Smiling at me "yes" he said I wanted him to meet Tanya, my 3-yr-old daughter. I named her after Tanya Tucker. "I am not with her anymore" He said and took her from my arms spoke to her and kissed her cheek and handed her back smiling. He was just so kind.
Thank you Campbell family for sharing such a great man all these years.
Prayers to you all.

My sincere and deepest sympathies to Glen's family and friends and to all that were in some way touched by this man, it was a sad day when the news broke of his passing but thankfully his music lives on. I've had the honour of seeing Glen in concert and meeting him but these last two years his music has helped me get through my own personal grieving after my mum passed away, a lasting memory is the day my mum met Glen at a golf tournament here in the UK and now maybe he has met her again.

Very nice talented son who took time to autograph his CD and pose for pictures with Otis his band then. Glen raised a nice family... thanks buddy! I was blessed to know Glen for over 54 years...almost every phase of his astounding career. Watching him play guitar on "wrecking Crew" sessions at Western Recorders, with Brian Wilson producing, booking a couple of 'live' shows as early as June of 64, promoting his records as promotion manager at Capitol Records immediately after I left The Beach Boys organization, I cherish these memories and I am so grateful I got to know him. When Glen was in Nashville recording with Carl Jackson--the Louvin' Brothers tribute album--Carl invited me to the studio to spend some time with them. Glen and I swapped stories of the 'good old days' and had a great visit. When I posted my heartfelt memories on Facebook yesterday afternoon, I was so grateful to see the feedback from folks all over the world, over 1,000 'likes,' 'shares,' and comments. I know Glen would be pleased that so many folks, from all walks of life, remember him and the wonderful music he so unselfishly shared with the world. God truly blessed Glen with great talents and blessed all of us for being able to witness His work. RIP, old friend. I'm going to miss you.

"And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time"'s was always melancholy hearing the lineman needed a vacation he couldn't take. Well, the Wichita lineman has finally gotten his vacation. Love you Glen. Prayers for your family.

I think the death of Glen Campbell has affected me more than the death of any other celebrity has! The talented artist from a little Arkansas town was the success story that dreams are made of. We listened to his smooth, beautiful voice and traveled to Phoenix, Wichita, or Galveston. His songs have been the landmarks of my adult life. Galveston showed us the fear of the young soldier as he left his home for a war (Vietnam) from which there might be no return. Gentle on My Mind reached into the cobwebs of our minds to remember special loves in our lives. A Hall of Fame for Mothers expressed the love and uniqueness of my own mother. By the Time I Get to Phoenix portrayed the restlessness of our baby boomer generation. Honey Come Back is the story of our lost but unforgotten loves. I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry expresses the feelings so many of us have felt during long, dark, lonely nights! Wichita Lineman is the anthem for all those men and their families who work night and day, through storms and sunshine to keep us warm and comfortable. One song that is a song that America needs right now is Try a Little Kindness! Yes, this list could go on and on. Glen sang the stories of not just my life, but yours, as well. I think that the turbulence in his own life exemplified the turbulence of our generation. I loved his music and his humanness. I hope his music lives on and is enjoyed by our children and grandchildren. Glen Campbell, I hope you truly had Everything a Man Could Ever Need! Ride on, Rhinestone Cowboy!

My life is full of Glen Campbell music memories. My favorite song is "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife" and of course all of his other songs, especially "Southern Nights" I had heard that he had this illness and was going to have a tour and I was so happy that he wanted to do that! What a Trooper! He is a hero to me and I will never forget him or his music. My heart goes out to his family. Remember that he is with our Lord now and has many gems in his crown with the Lord. I never say Goodbye, as it is too final. I will say, "Thank you Mr. Glen for making my life happier and will "See Ya Later" With love from a grateful Fan.

I have wonderful memories of listening to Glen Campbell's music in my childhood. Back in the 1970's, my late Grandparents had an RV with an 8-track player (!) in it, and I remember many happy road trip vacations listening to the likes of Glen Campbell, Johnny Cash, and Gordon Lightfoot playing over the speakers in that RV. I recently bought Glen Campbell's greatest hits CD, and it brought me right back to those days hearing "Galveston", "Rhinestone Cowboy", "Gentle on my Mind", and his numerous other hits. Thank you to Glen Campbell's family for sharing him with the world. He was a wonderful talent. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Walking on the muddy river banks in Hazard Ky, we use to sing try a little kindness. Glen Campbell perform a free concert in Hazard ky my home town in 1973. After seeing him live I was hooked. His music had a huge impact on my childhood. I had an opportunity to see him live in San Antonio Texas , but had to cancel at the last minute. I really regret not seeing him then. My three favorite performers of his era were Elvis, Tom Jones and Glen. Tom Jones is still around to carry on. Glen I loved your music and the fact that you were a down to earth country boy and remain humble throughout the years, gives me the upmost respect for all your accomplishments. RIP . To All the Family of Glen,
I had the great pleasure of spending 3-4 days keeping Him company back around 2004 working at Mohegan Sun,s Martini Lounge. (He really loved the beauty & atmosph.)!
The Way All of Glen's Family Members tended to Him, and the Love he Had for All of You was a clear & easy observation to make.
I would like to thank All the Family from All of His Fans, for bringing to Light, the battle for all that battle Alzheimer's Disease and especially to you, Blessed Glen, for doing what you did.
My sincere condolences to the Family/Friends/& Fans of a Great Man that has made an indelible & perpetual mark on all Music we listen to even today.

I am so very sorry for your loss, though somehow that doesn't seem adequate. My mother has Alzheimer's and the documentary about Glen's struggle with being diagnosed and then living with Alzheimer's was moving and heartbreaking for we have lived with so much of what you have gone through. I know this loss is bittersweet, for his battle with this horrendous disease is over and now he can rest in peace in Heaven but I know you will miss him terribly. Alzheimer's robs us twice, we lose them once as they decline in the battle with Alzheimer's and then we lose them again when they pass. Many thoughts and prayers are with you as you say goodbye and reminisce of his life and legacy. God bless you all with peace and comfort now and in the days ahead. Thank you for sharing his battle with the world.

I learned all your songs and cried watching your film. God bless you Glenn just love you and your forever gentle on my mind

Posted by Frank Miller - Maui, HI   August 09, 2017

Having never been a fan of country music, I was impressed with Glen Campbell's referring to himself as "a country boy who sings". I love the songs "Gentle on My Mind", "Galveston" and "Wichita Lineman". These songs are on my playlist, If all country music sounded like these songs, I would be a country music fan forever. "Galveston" has a special place in my heart. Back in 1982, my boyfriend (now my husband) was away in Japan. At the time, I had a favorite radio station that specialized in oldies. Weeks before my boyfriend was to come home, I heard "Galveston" on that station. I have brown eyes, and thought of the words "dark eyes" in the song as referring to me. The world has lost a stellar performer whose songs are gentle on this woman's mind. Rest in peace, Glen.

My condolences to Mrs. Glen Campbell, his children, grandchildren and extended family on his passing. I was very saddened to hear of his Alzheimer's diagnosis. I lost a grandmother and great-grandmother to the same disease. I remember when I was a sophomore in high school and my choir Loara High in Anaheim and a slew of other choirs sang in a Christmas at Disneyland Special hosted by Glen Campbell. It is a moment in my life that I will cherish forever. I had one of Glen's albums and started to collect more so I could always listen to his magnificent voice. A voice now completely silenced. May his name, memory and legacy be for a blessing. He will be missed by all that new him on a personal level and those who were his fans. Rest easy Mr. Campbell, thanks for the memories.

Posted by Cheryl Landin - Rocky Mount, NC   August 08, 2017

Glen Campbell and his music defined such a big part of my youth growing up in the 60's. Each Sunday night was spent in front of the TV enjoying his "Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour". And you could usually hear his 45's of "By the Time I Get to Phoenix", "Galveston" and "Honey, Come Back" (a song that still makes me cry) wafting through our home via our old portable record player. He was blessed with one of the purest, most beautiful voices that country music, or music in general, has ever heard. My heart is broken that, today, we have lost another irreplaceable talent, and gentle man. May he rest in the knowledge that his musical legacy will last forever...
