I loved watching Donna on the Beverly hillbillies, for years I looked for a woman as loving and good hearted as her, her good nature just radiated from her, you can't fake that, if more people treated other people as the Beverly hillbillies, this world would be a better place, what I learned from watching the show, look a man straight in the eye when you shake his hand, always keep your word, treat people as you wish to be treated, rest in peace Donna, I know where you went.

So sadden to hear the news of Donna's passing. Beverly Hillbillies was one of the greatest show, don't think we even missed a single episode. Still watch reruns. This summer we got to go to Branson, Mo. finally and by chance at a museum is the original truck used in the show and we got to sit in it and have our picture taken. What an honor to see and actually sit in this awesome special vehicle. You surely will be missed. Happy Trails. Loisjean & Jim Fossen - Kimball, MN.

Thank you for making my childhood happy, because when I watched your show it made me happy and you were such a sweet heart, those were the days of TV being innocent and fun, and I loved you and Elvis together, those days are now long gone, but thank you for the wonderful memories. Our little town of Ellijay in Northwest Georgia had the rare privilege to be graced by the presence of Ms. Douglas for a few days when she came during the annual Apple Festival in the Fall of 2013. Serving as grand marshal for the parade, themed 'Elly May Comes to Ellijay.' Miss Donna was truly engaged and professional, meeting and greeting folks (and critters), signing autographs, setting up photos to capitalize on the best lighting, and just being her simply delightful self. Presented with a key to the city, we had hoped she might return someday. We were saddened to learn of her passing. Condolences and heartfelt sympathy to surviving family and friends.

Dear Ms Smith. I was so sorry to read that Donna died of pancreatic cancer. I'm 69 and a vietnam Veteran who was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam and now have pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed in 2011. the VA has denied disability support for me based on my disease, even though they admit there is a much greater risk for Vietnam veterans to have pancreatic cancer than other veterans or the general population. I don't care so much about myself since I don't have much longer to live, but my wife will be left with a lot of expenses and the disability income would be significant for her. I'm trying to appeal their decision, but they're delaying it so much that I will probably be dead by the time they allow my hearing to take place in Philadelphia. I don't know if Donna left a significant estate, but there are good organizations working on a cure for this terrible killer disease. PanCan and the lustgarten foundation are two of them. I'm sure there are others worthy of your consideration.

What terribly sad news. Everyone has to die one day, but Donna's passing is just so sad. She was one of the most beautiful women in television. I loved watching the silly 'Hillbillies" when i was a little girl, She was a Christian. God has her now. God bless you, dear lady, and your family.-Virginia in Texas

My name is Carl Scarlata. I am a jeweler in Orlando Florida. But more important than that is that I was and still am a very good friend of Donna. When my father had an accident, Donna flew from California to stay with me and my father in the hospital. As a result of my father's accident, unfortunately he ended up passing away. Although Donna informed me at that time that she only felt comfortable singing in recording studios, but to my surprise, mid-service at my father's funeral, she walked up to the stage, removed the microphone from my hand and sang the most beautiful song. The anointing that flowed from Donna singing that song changed the whole perspective of my father's funeral. I don't have to tell you she was great. She always showed genuine love to me and my family. I understand that her funeral service is only open for her family and close friends. In saying that, I don't remember having a more genuine or closer friend than Donna. If it all possible I would like to ask the family's permission to attend Donna's service. As most of you, myself and my family are very much broken hearted and will miss her very much. Eitherway if you can kindly respond to me at my email address or contact numbers 407.754.7759 or 321.972.3117. Sincerely, Carl Scarlata.
