"May god grant the Unseld family peace and comfort during this difficult time and all of you are in my prayers. Thank you Wes for putting Louisville Basketball on the map and making it what it is today. You are a true legend and hero in this city and you will never be forgotten. God bless the Unseld family. Rest easy Wes. Cardinal Forever."
"Connie and family I have you all in my prayers. I do know the deep of you missing at this time but God prevail and restore your spirits. When we did get together he often picked on me but it was playful and we both would laugh. May God send his Angels around you at this and thank you for sharing Wes with me in my life .
"Westley Unseld was the first great Basketball player I ever met. I suppose the second one was Butch Beard. Westley was our summer camp counselor at Skyview Park in Jeffersontown, KY while he was in high school. I know he gave me the nickname "Tallulah" because my voice was so deep at age 13. In later years I would see Westley and Connie when they were on campus at University of Louisville as they were close friends with Butch and Ruth (Hack) Beard. Connie and the entire Unseld/Martin families are in my prayers. My deepest condolences to these families and prayers for their strength in the days to come."
"This is Alene Dunlap of Oklahoma City, Okla. I met Wes in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His sister, Sandy and I taught school together and were good friends until her death in 2009. I met the whole family. Attended Wes and Connies wedding in 1970. His sister Jeannie taught in Milwaukee as well. The family have my deepest sympathy. Praying for the entire family. I loved that family. RIP Wes"
