"I think when everything has been said and done, all will agree that Allen Toussaint made a great name for himself as a talented musician who had much love for the people of New Orleans. Be comforted in knowing that others share your grief, and God's love will get you through your grief. My respect and condolences to the Toussaint family for your loss!"
"To Reggie and the entire Toussaint immediate, extended, and musical families,
Please accept my sincere condolences and appreciation for having allowed me to have a small glimpse into the world and magic of New Orleans' singular Musical Ambassador. My respect for Mr. T was so complex, I loved his body of work, his fashionable panache, his penchant for beautiful things in the world and our shared love for the city of New Orleans.
I, too, worked shoulder to shoulder with my father, sharing his passions and talent with the world and I know that upon its loss, there is a searing white hot pain that we wish we could all ignore. But be assured good men who are devoted fathers never really leave us. Only their perspective changes, from eye to eye or looking over our shoulders while guarding our backs to in an instant they are transformed to their eye in the sky bird's eye view from Heaven.
Be blessed and let the prayers of us surround and protect you from the winds of regret, recriminations, despair and depression, he has gone to claim his reward and what a great day in Heaven, it must be.....
Ladies and Gentlemen, Heavenly Hosts and Angels assembled please join me in welcoming the one and only Musical Ambassador of the New Orleans' Sound.....Sir Allen Toussaint for his Command Performance!
Prayerfully,"
